- Should I Do a Pre-Planning Visit to My Destination Wedding Location before My Big Day? YES!
Doing a pre-destination wedding planning trip is nothing less than being on a journey toward the wedding of your dreams. This pre-planning trip is the starting point of a grand adventure—a journey that leads to your ultimate celebration of love. From choosing the perfect venue that mirrors your vision to establishing productive connections with the onsite wedding team, every step will help you decide if this location is right for your destination wedding. Allow us to uncover a string of tips and strategies, all aimed at helping you optimize your pre-wedding planning trip. TIP 1: Visiting a Destination When choosing a destination for your wedding, prioritize safety, accessibility, and guest comfort. Ensure there are no recent travel warnings, political issues, or health concerns. Consider the feasibility of travel for all guests, especially those with specific needs. Understand the climate of the destination and how it will be around the time of your planned wedding. Always have backup plans in case of bad weather. Tip 2: Visiting The Resort Venue – What to Consider When scouting for a resort wedding venue, several important factors must be considered. Here are some key things to keep in mind: ● Location: Choose a location that aligns with your vision and is easily accessible to all your guests. If you can find a location that is within 30-45 minutes of the airport, that is ideal, but don’t let that be your sole criteria. ● Ceremony & Reception Locations: Seeing ceremony and reception sites available at your resort or at an offsite venue is the number one decision to make on a pre-wedding planning trip. You need to be able to “see yourself” truly having the ceremony of your dreams there. ● Capacity: Make sure the space is right for a group of your size and that the venue's capacity is suitable for both the ceremony and reception ● Policies: Ask about the venue's policies on outside vendors, alcohol, decor, music and entertainment, catering, cake, accommodations, insurance, and security. ● Accessibility: Check the venue's policy on accessibility and parking situation. If you are inviting people who are more physically challenged, then choosing a location and resort that is easy to get around in, without a lot of hills or valleys, is preferable. ● Indoor vs. Outdoor: Decide whether you want an indoor or outdoor wedding and consider the pros and cons of each option. Obviously, unless the weather is a factor, most people will have their ceremony and reception outside, that’s the main reason you are having a destination wedding however, there are times when you could have the beauty of an outdoor ceremony, with the comfort of a ballroom reception, out of the heat and humidity. It just depends on you. NOTE: Make sure that the resort you choose does have quality spots for a backup plan if needed when weather is bad. ● Your Guest Experience: The comfort and enjoyment of your guests is also a top priority area. Make sure that the resort you choose will have plenty to offer for all of your family and friends you are inviting to your wedding. Tip 3: Meeting With The Onsite Wedding Team One advantage of doing a pre-destination wedding visit is being able to meet with the onsite wedding team to see how you relate and communicate with them. Your comfort level of course is of utmost importance when working with a wedding team. Here are some areas to consider during your visit to maximize the productivity of your meeting. 1. Prepare a list of questions that include inquiries about menu options, venue capacity, and decor choices. 2. Be receptive to suggestions and recommendations from the onsite team. They possess valuable experience and knowledge about the venue and the local area, which can prove invaluable in making informed decisions. With that said, make sure the team is actually listening to your concerns and needs. If they aren’t now, when they are looking for your business, they really won’t be once you’re signed, sealed, and delivered. 3. Take a comprehensive tour of the venue alongside the team. This will give you a clearer understanding of the space and how it can best be utilized for your wedding. 4. Communicate your wedding vision and preferences. Collaborate with them to develop a plan that aligns with your desires and suits your budget. Again, make sure they are listening to you, not just pushing their own agenda. 5. Ensure that your expectations are transparently communicated. Any special requests or requirements should be clearly articulated to the onsite team. Your meeting should make you feel like you can collaborate effectively with the onsite team to make well-informed decisions for your wedding, resulting in a memorable and enjoyable experience for you and your guests. Tip 4: Turn Your Pre-Wedding Planning trip into a Mini Getaway Experience While a pre-wedding planning trip can be busy, try to enjoy a little break while there. Take at least one day to relax on the beach, sip some margs, and rejuvenate. The details of your wedding will come together and you won’t plan everything in an entire weekend, so relax! Enjoy your visit and come back excited and energetic to make your final decision and start planning your destination wedding! Pro tip: have some professional pics taken while there so you can send out the save-the-date cards with a photo of you two at the destination! How cool would that be? Your pre-wedding planning trip isn’t just a quick getaway. It can provide you with all the information you need that will help you plan your dream wedding. From understanding your destination's culture to selecting the perfect resort venue, doing a pre-planning trip will help you craft a wedding experience that will leave a lasting mark, and become a cherished chapter in your love story. If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed and want to ensure you cover all your bases with your destination wedding planning, Or you would like to do a pre-planning destination wedding trip, I’d be delighted to chat with you.

- Why It’s Not a Good Idea to Book Your Wedding or Rooms Directly with a Resort
Sure, you've gotten serious about your wedding planning, and that means you're ready to lock in the resort where you will wed. However, before you pick up the phone and book directly with a resort or hotel, there are a few things to consider. Here are some of the reasons, I recommend avoiding booking your destination wedding directly with the resort. Let's dive in and discover why it's not the best idea: You Might End Up Spending More Sure, you might think that booking directly with the resort will save you some bucks, but that's not always the case. Resort managers are aware that it's a one-time deal with you, so they may try to maximize their profits. On the other hand, a destination wedding specialist or consultant will have solid connections with resort management and can often score special rates, discounts, and package deals that aren't available to individual customers. They can help you compare prices across different resorts and make sure you get the best value for your money. You Could Get Slammed With Fees It is so upsetting to see couples get blind-sided with fees based on the group contract. Essentially, when rooms are held for a group, there are attrition dates and cancellation penalties. If you don’t pay attention to those and have empty rooms in the group, or if your guests cancel their room when there are cancellation penalties, couples can be stuck holding the bag and have fees they weren’t expecting. This is why most destination wedding couples will learn from the mistake of others and choose to work with a travel professional who specializes in destination wedding group travel. You'll Be Left with Stressful Tasks Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, especially when it's a destination wedding. While the resort will take care of the wedding-specific infrastructure, there are dozens of other aspects to manage. Juggling all these tasks from afar can be incredibly stressful. Hiring a wedding planner or working with a destination wedding specialist can alleviate much of that stress. They can handle the logistics, coordination, and communication with the resort, allowing you to focus on taking care of your loved ones and ensuring their comfort and enjoyment during the wedding preparations. You'll Miss Out on Personalized Service & Experience Keep in mind that the resort might be handling your wedding along with a dozen other unrelated events at the same time. The best they can offer is a dedicated manager, but that doesn't really qualify as a personalized service. A destination wedding consultant can work closely with you to understand your dream wedding ideas and preferences. They'll customize the event to reflect your style, theme, and budget, ensuring that all the details are taken care of. They can also connect you with top-notch photographers, decorators, and entertainers to make your wedding experience truly memorable. Communication Issues May Cause Problems Let's face it, the customer service at some exotic and remote destination wedding resorts isn't always as speedy as we'd like. If you need to communicate changes or get information to help with your planning, reaching the right people quickly can be a challenge. Booking directly with these resorts may lead to communication difficulties. They might not respond to your emails promptly, and if you manage to get them on the phone, they might keep you waiting until you're frustrated. On the other hand, a reputable event management service or wedding planner knows how to connect with the right person quickly and relay your messages effectively. They might even have local contacts to make sure everything is set up perfectly for your big day. At first, Booking your destination wedding or honeymoon direct seems like a simple decision. But it's not always the best choice. That's why it's smart to engage destination wedding & honeymoon experts to help you locate the perfect resort, negotiate an unbeatable rate, and optimize your travel plans. By teaming up with a good consultant or planner, you can ensure that everything goes off without a hitch—and that's something you won't regret. If you are in the middle of trying to figure out your destination wedding, or just feel like you need a helping hand. Hit the easy button, and schedule a free 30-minute consultation with me today. These fabrics will help keep you cool and comfortable in the tropical climate. Embrace the elements: When selecting a beach wedding dress, keep in mind the sand, sun, and sea. Choose a dress that is easy to walk in. Consider a dress with straps to keep it secure and avoid a wardrobe malfunction in the sea breeze. Be mindful of the length: A long train or full skirt may be beautiful, but it's not practical for a beach wedding. A shorter hemline or a high-low style will allow you to move around freely and enjoy the beach setting. Add some tropical flair: Consider incorporating some Caribbean-inspired elements into your dress. You could opt for a dress with a bold floral pattern or add a tropical flower to your hair. Consider getting one dress for the ceremony and one for the reception. Dancing the night away under the stars sounds romantic, but it can get really hot. A short party gown will be perfect for your outdoor reception. Don’t forget the shoes: Skip the high heels and opt for a pair of flats or sandals that are comfortable and easy to walk in on the sand. By keeping these tips in mind, you'll be sure to select a beach wedding dress that is perfect for your Caribbean destination wedding. As you can see, there are many chic and elegant choices for your destination wedding dress. Whatever shape or style is right for you and your dress, always take into consideration your comfort A destination wedding doesn't have to mean giving up the dress you really want! Registration is free to all cruise guests 10 years or older. To register, you must go to Guest Services on-board (I recommend going on your arrival day). Information on how to sign up in your daily navigator that you receive at check-in Information on where to meet for the Castaway Cay 5k will be in your Daily Navigator left in your room the night before porting at Castaway Cay. Runners (and walkers!) usually meet at one of the lounges onboard around 8:00am to get instructions and their race bib. You will then all exit the ship together and walk the nearly one mile trek (yes, before you even start the Castaway Cay 5k!) to the start line. As mentioned above, participants must be at least 10 years old. If you have children who can’t (or don’t want to) participate, you can drop them off at kids clubs on the island on your way to the start line. You can also run/walk with a stroller if you have younger ones. Once you arrive at the start line, there is a large container where you can drop your belongings until you have completed the Castaway Cay 5k. There are no chips for official times, but there is a clock so you can see your unofficial time (the start line is also the finish line). Castaway’s course has a loop (that you will run through twice – it is the bike loop people use when renting bikes on the island) and a straight section called the “airstrip.” The airstrip does get very hot, as there is no shade whatsoever, so this section can be brutal – thankfully it’s just a short section and the loop has some shade. The course is paved and pretty flat (thank goodness!) and there is one water station on the loop that you will pass twice. The Start and Finish Line! I am not a runner. I run the occasional 5K with my husband (usually for a cute medal, lol). You do not have to be a runner to participate in the 5k! There are plenty of people who walk or some (like me) who do a combination of running/walking. Everyone gets a medal at the finish line and it’s a great way to see some of the island that you might not normally see. A lot of people get off the ship and secure a chair at the first section of beach and miss out on a lot of other things. Plus you can be guilt free while having all-you-can-eat at the buffet since you completed your daily exercise! Things to Remember: Register at Guest Services on your arrival day Wear a hat/sunglasses and cool clothing – it gets hot! There is no official timing, but everyone gets an awesome souvenir medal Have you ran the Castaway Cay 5K? What are your thoughts? The 5k is on my list of must-do’s for your first Disney cruise. - Rainforest Room Experience on the Disney Cruise – A Hidden Gem!
Would you like to go to the spa but don’t want to spend the money on a massage or other treatment? You can! For around $16 per person, you can buy a day pass to the Rainforest Room. With this pass, you have access to locker rooms/showers, sauna, sensory showers, heated stone loungers and hot tubs (hot tubs only on the Dream and Fantasy). This is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the spa without having to pay larger prices for the massage, pedicure, etc. Plus with this, you have access all day long, not just during your treatment. My husband and I have taken advantage of this several times, and I was lucky enough to get on-board super early and get some great pics of an empty spa. I call this a Hidden Gem because it is not really advertised on the Disney Cruise Line website, so a lot of first-time cruisers may not know about this. First you will be guided to the locker rooms and given slippers (if needed) and a robe. Lockers are free to use to store your personal items. Exfoliation Room: Sensory Showers: The showers have different experiences such as Tropical Storm, Siberian Night and Warm Summer Rain (with lights, scents and sounds to enhance your experience). Sauna: Heated Loungers: My favorite – the heated loungers! I have fell asleep every time. Hot Tubs (on the Dream and Fantasy Only): Love the hot tubs with floor to ceiling views. There are only a limited number of passes sold, so I recommend reserving your pass as soon as you can! To reserve a 1-Day Pass before your cruise, you must download the In-Room Gifts & Amenities form here (OrderForm-GiftsAmenities) and fax form or you can call to order (or of course your Travel Agent (me!) will do this for you as well). Once on-board, you will be offered the exfoliating scrub for an additional $11, but this is completely optional. If you prefer a length of stay pass, you need to purchase these (obviously) the first day of your cruise. Rainforest Room Price List: 1-Day Pass: $16 (must be pre-ordered!), $27 with exfoliating scrubs Singles Length of Stay: 3-Night Cruise Pass: $42 or $69 with exfoliating scrubs 4-Night Cruise Pass: $56 or $101 with exfoliating scrubs 7-Night Cruise Pass: $144 with exfoliating scrubs *18% gratuity will be added to length of stay passes Couples Length of Stay: 3-Night Cruise Couples Pass: $75 or $102 with exfoliating scrubs 4-Night Cruise Couples Pass: $99 or $144 with exfoliating scrubs 7-Night Cruise Couples Pass: $193 with exfoliating scrubs *18% gratuity will be added to length of stay passes Important to Note: You must be 18 years or older. You do not have to have an appointment. When you check in with your stateroom key at the front desk, you will be given a bracelet that gives you access to the Rainforest Room. They will hold your stateroom key at the front desk, so when you are finished you must go to the front desk (and repeat if you plan to return later in the day/evening).
- 10 Must-Do Tips for your First Disney Cruise
1 – Dress up for Pirate Night and go to the party/fireworks. How often do you get to see fireworks at sea? It’s a fun night and on a Disney cruise you can lose all your inhibitions and be a kid again. We love to dress up and meet up with Pirate Mickey and Jack Sparrow. Our pirate night gear! 2. Go see all of the shows! They are wonderful. Seriously, you will think you are in New York City at a Broadway show. They are that good. 3. Book a Palo Brunch. It is an extra fee, but only $30 per person for 5-star cuisine. You can read all about our brunch here. Reservations get booked up quickly, so you need to book as soon as your online check-in opens up (as your travel agent, I provide this service for you by booking first thing on your check-in date). My dessert plate 4. Get a Day Pass to the Rainforest Room. For only $16 per person, you can enjoy the spa (sensory showers, heated loungers, sauna). The definition of relaxation. You can read all about the Rainforest Room here. The heated stone loungers – heaven! 5. Order the Pasta Pursettes at Animator’s Palate! You can thank me later – they are delicious!! Pasta Pursettes at Animator’s Palate 6. Order Room Service. Most people typically don’t order room service on vacation, right? It’s a small yet pricey luxury that is passed on in lieu of other activities. Well, on the Disney Cruise it is absolutely free! Our kids loved ordering warm cookies and milk right before bed. (There are some “secret” menu items not listed as well which I provide on my tips sheet sent to clients!) 7. Play Bingo. Our family loves playing Bingo on the Disney cruise. Even if we don’t win anything, it’s so much fun. “Shake it up Betty” and “B11” (Beyonce) are some of our best memories…..AND we won the JACKPOT once!!! We were a little excited! 8. Run or Walk the 5k at Castaway Cay. It’s a free 5k, and you get a really cute souvenir medal to take home. You can read more about the 5k here. 9. Decorate your stateroom door! Not only is it fun for the kids, but it helps you locate your room faster. You can order personalized magnets from places like etsy.com, or you can make your own like I did. Want to know what those organizers hanging there are? You can read all about Fish Extenders here. 10. Last, and most important – Book your next cruise while onboard. This is pretty much the only way to get a discount on a Disney cruise. When you book onboard, you don’t have to pick a date. You can pay $250 for a placeholder, and you just have to cruise within the next two years. This will give you 10% off your next cruise, as well as an onboard credit from Disney ($100 for cruises up to 6 nights, $200 for 7 nights or more). You will also get my on-board credit as well! The placeholder fee is completely refundable if you are unable to take the cruise in the next 2 years. As an Independent Travel Agent with Mouse Counselors, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, I offer concierge travel planning for Walt Disney World® Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland® Resort, Adventures by Disney®, Aulani and all other destinations at no cost to you. Message me today if I can help book a magical vacation for you.
- Palo Brunch on the Disney Cruise
Palo is a fine-dining, adult only (18+) restaurant on all four Disney Cruise ships that serves brunch and dinner. There is a nominal fee (currently $30 per person), for each meal. Reservations can be made (and should be!) when you are able to check in for your cruise (75 days for first-time cruisers), and brunch is definitely the more popular option, therefore harder to get a reservation for. Palo brunch reservations are sometimes sold out the first day check-in opens for first-time cruisers! There is a dress code for Palo brunch and dinner. Men are recommended to wear dress pants, slacks and collared shirts and women a dress, skirt or pants and blouse. Jeans may be worn if in good condition (no holes). Shorts or hats for men are absolutely not allowed. I have been to both Palo brunch and dinner on the Disney Dream, and my preference is brunch. Not only did I enjoy the food better at brunch, I do not like to miss out on the fun rotational dining options in the main dining rooms. We did enjoy the dinner as well though, and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night. The Palo Brunch includes a complimentary glass of champagne or a mimosa, as well as a buffet and an a la carte menu, and as with all things on a cruise – it’s all you can eat. The buffet consist of a variety of pastries, seafood and cheeses: These were our plates: The Palo Brunch a la carte menu: We started first with some soups: Tomato and Basil Soup Celery Soup On to our entrees….. I tried the Chicken Parmesan (heavenly!) So delicious! Eddie ordered the lasagna: After all of that, there is still the delectable dessert bar! I love the sizes of each dessert as it gives you the opportunity to try many things – which as you can see – we did! Our plates: Please note gratuity is not included in the $30 per person fee. I also try to tip based on what the prices would be, as this is a five-star worthy restaurant, as opposed to basing it on the cost of $30 per person. Have you tried the Palo brunch? Check out my post on my must-do’s for a Disney Cruise!
- Everything You Need to Know About Disney Cruise Fish Extenders!
My first Disney cruise (before I became a travel agent) I walked around wondering what all the cute organizers hanging from the hooks outside the cabin were? Well, they are called Fish Extenders. Every stateroom has some sort of fish hanging on the wall outside the door. A Fish Extender is a type of pocket organizer hanging from the fish hook with compartments for each family member. There are usually groups of 10 cabins in each Fish Extender Group. The best way to find your cruise group is to type your cruise date and ship name in the Facebook search bar (ex. “Disney Wonder March 22, 2018.” Once you find your cruise group, you will need to request to join the group and then you can sign up for Fish Extender. This is a gift exchange with the other cabins in your group, giving a small gift for each person in the group – averaging around $15 spent per cabin, although some people do give a “cabin gift” that would serve everyone in the cabin. See the “fish” the organizer is hanging from? Hence the name… 🙂 I’m not going to lie – Fish Extenders are a lot of work – but a whole lot of fun. It took me until my 4th cruise to decide to participate. I’m glad I did because it was so much fun for the kids. They loved coming back to the room to find little gifts left for them, and they also enjoyed delivering our gifts to other cabins. It could get tricky if you are flying, because you likely will need a separate piece of luggage just to hold the gifts you give and bring back the ones you receive! You can make your own Fish Extender if you are somewhat crafty, or you can purchase pre-made from sites such as Etsy or eBay. Although I am not the craftiest person around, I didn’t want to spend $50 on a Fish Extender, so I decided to make my own. I bought this organizer from amazon.com for around $10: Clicking on the photo will take you straight to Amazon! Comes in Navy and Red. Can’t be beat for the price. Crafts from Michael’s….around $5 I was pretty happy with the end result. I then added our names using vinyl from my cricut machine. LOVE my Cricut machine! It has saved me tons of money being able to make my own Disney shirts, fish extender gifts, etc.! Just click on the photo to take you to check it out on Amazon. We had one for the girls and one for the boys! Once all 10 cabins have been assigned to your group, you will be given a list of the name of each person, their cabin number and the children’s ages, along with helpful information such as each person’s favorite character, favorite Disney souvenir, if you are celebrating anything, etc. This is usually done months in advance to give you time to decide what kind of gifts you want to give those in your group. I decided to give everyone the same gift (all the women received the same gift, same gift for men, etc). I wanted to give them something useful but also something a little personal and of course something “Disney-fied.” These are the gifts I ended up giving: For the women, a small makeup organizer with a Disney cruise vinyl logo from my cricut machine, with a sample of Advil and a shout wipe: For the men: Star Wars socks and an anchor bottle opener. For the socks, I bought a set of 3 from JCPenney and broke them up. The anchor bottle openers were purchased from eBay for only about $1.50 each. For the girls: I made Pirate mickey ears. I had bought these headbands from amazon: (insert pic/link) to give away at a travel booth I had at a vendor event, and had some left over. So after googling how to make a bow without sewing, I decided to go with this. I was happy with how they turned out, and even made some for the girls and I which we wore on Pirate Night. For the boys: I had a really hard time trying to decide what to get boys of all different ages that could be the same gift. So I probably took the easy way out, but I think it’s something they all probably enjoyed – a candy movie kit for the theater on-board in a Star Wars Gift Bag: After I got everything made it was time to figure out how to package. I bought clear cellophane bags from amazon.com for the headbands, Frozen Ziploc bags for the women’s gifts, Star Wars Ziploc bags for the mens gifts, and then the Star Wars gift bags for the boys movie kits. Everything was pretty compact when I finished so I was able to pack it in a smaller suitcase: Each gift does need to be labeled with the name and cabin number and I also put which cabin the gift was from along with our last name. If your gift is too big for the Fish Extender pocket, you can set it in front of the door. It’s up to you when you want to deliver the gifts. We spaced ours out each day and delivered to rooms at the Aft of the ship one day, Mid-ship one day and then Forward. This helps not walking all over the ship. Make sure you take a look at the layout so you’ll have a plan in place. The best advice I can give is to not stress out about it, it’s supposed to be fun! Don’t feel like you have to break the bank to give a nice gift, we all know the cruise is already expensive. Homemade gifts are appreciated or you can find some cute but useful items in the Target dollar spot, Etsy or at www.aliexpress.com (if you are ordering from Ali Express, you need to do it a few months in advance, as most items are shipping from China and can take a while to arrive – but they have some great prices. These are some of the gifts we received from our Fish Extender (not all!) I definitely recommend trying Fish Extender on your next cruise if you are able, this was one of our kids fondest memories from our last cruise! Have you ever participated in Fish Extenders? Do you have any questions or comments? Pictures to share? I’d love to hear from you!
- Why You Need to Stay on Disney Property (aka “The Disney Bubble”)
When planning a Disney World vacation, a lot of people ask “should I stay on Disney property or somewhere close by to save money?” For me personally, it is a definite stay on property. While sometimes off property may work better for large families who want to stay in a house together, in almost all cases, staying on property has too many conveniences and perks to pass up. What is the “Disney Bubble?” When you stay on Disney property, once you get to your resort, you are in the Disney Bubble. There is no need to go anywhere outside of Disney, and Disney provides free transportation to all four parks, their two waterparks and Disney Springs. The magic of Disney is just not the same when you have to pack up and head outside Disney property. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (Cars Family Suite Section) Here are my top reasons to stay on Disney Property. Magic Bands. When you stay on Disney property, you will get personalized Magic Bands for everyone in your party. These magic bands work as your room key, park tickets, dining credits (if you opt for the dining plan), and the magic band can be linked to your credit card, so you don’t have to carry cards or cash around at the parks. Everything can be charged to your band. You will receive your magic bands in the mail about 3 weeks prior to your trip, so it’s also fun to receive something in the mail to get you even more excited about your trip! While you can buy magic bands and link your tickets if you are staying off property, the bands cost at least $12.95 each, and you will not have charging privileges staying off Disney property. Extra Magic Hours. Disney resort guests have access to extra magic hours at the parks. There are either early morning hours (7am-8am) or late hours (anywhere from 9pm – 1am) that only resort guests have access to. Dining Plan. Staying on Disney property is the only way you will be able to purchase the Disney Dining Plan. While the dining plan is not for all people, it is a definite convenience loved by many. Should you get the dining plan? You can read my post on that here. Disney transportation. While it’s not always fun (especially at park closing when you and thousands of other people are exiting the parks), the Disney transportation is a definite perk to staying on property. Who wants to hop in their car, drive through traffic, and pay to park (if staying off-site – $20 per day). Not only that….if you are wanting to leave the park for some pool time or an afternoon nap – it’s so much easier to hop on a Disney bus and head back to your resort. Mid-day breaks are a must for this family! While some off-site hotels do have shuttles that go back and forth to the parks, they are not as frequent as Disney transportation, and it will be a longer trip. Access to book FastPasses at 60 days instead of 30 days for off-site guests. This may not seem like a big deal – but it can be for the popular rides such as the new Avatar Flight of Passage or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. For these rides, if you don’t book at the 60 day mark – more than likely you won’t be getting a fastpass. In some cases, if you don’t book at 7am at 60 days you may not get one. (Another great reason to use me as your travel agent who will get up at 7am to book them for you). 6. Charging Privileges. When you stay on Disney property, you can use your Magic Band to purchase souvenirs while in the parks so that you do not have to carry around cash or credit cards. Not only that, but whatever you buy can be delivered to your resort gift shop so that you do not have to carry it around with you all day! 7. Disney’s Magical Express. When staying on Disney property, if you are flying into Orlando International Airport, Disney provides free transportation to and from the airport to your Disney resort. Luggage tags will also be sent with your Magic Bands that you can put on your luggage, and Disney will pick your bags up from baggage claim and deliver to your resort! They will also deliver your bags to the airport on your way home! As you can see, there are many reasons to stay on Disney property. If cost is your main reason for wanting to stay off property, be sure to ask about the Disney value resorts. You may be surprised at how cost efficient they can be. When you add up the additional costs that can add up when staying off property (parking fees, magic bands if you want to purchase, etc.) it may not be that different!
